Riddles of the Sphinx

AMY! and RIDDLES OF THE SPHINX continue the style-defining theoretical work of Laura Mulvey and Peter Wollen in cinematic form. Their psychoanalytical investigations of feminist issues are sometimes hypnotically rigorous in form. AMY! is an experimental portrait of the pilot Amy Johnson, while RIDDLES OF THE SPHINX centers on scenes from the life of a single mother, comprised of 13 360° pan shots to the music of Soft Machine keyboardist Mike Ratledge.
